Life happens. What are you gonna do about it?

Life happens. What are you gonna do about it?

“When I’m not feeling my best, I ask myself, ‘What are you gonna do about it?’ I use the negativity to fuel the transformation into a better me.” – Beyoncé

October is Positive Attitude Month!

Yes, lady B!

Emphasis on “What are you gonna do about it?”

Have you ever read a quote that was so good that you not only write it down, but just can't wait to share it? I like to think that a good word can save your life and a bad one can change it forever. It all depends on how you look at it. This quote from Beyonce hits the nail on the head.

Life is and will be difficult at times. There are lots of hills and valleys, setbacks and setups, and things you just don’t ever see coming. So, how do you deal with it all?

For some, it’s a strong cup of coffee or getting together with the girls for a martini. Dry or wet – the stronger the better. For others, it’s a solo vacation to not just Netflix but really chill.

Here are 3 things I do to stay positive:

1.  Look for the rainbow: In every situation, no matter how difficult I always look for the good. When we feel like the worst has happened, there is always a silver lining. You’ve lost your job, but your network is strong. Reach out. You ended a relationship and it made room for the person that was far better suited for you. You’re battling an illness, but you don’t have the worry of food, shelter, or health insurance. The rainbows are there. Get still and hold onto them.

2.  Daily prayer and meditation: I start my day with a prayer, and then, I meditate for at least 10 minutes. Here is one of my favorite meditations. It quiets my mind and prepares me for my day. The average person has 60,000 thoughts a day. Yes, 60,000. If you jump out of bed and get about your day as soon as you wake up, the thoughts from the day or for some of us, 5 years ago start to flood in. No wonder you can’t forgive your sister-in-law for what she did at your wedding! Bring peace to your mind and change your thought pattern. Joe Dispenza teaches the method perfectly.

3.  Positive ask-firmations: Askfirmations work like affirmations, except you recite the question rather than the statement. Something like this: “Why does everything always work out for me”? “Why does money flow to me so easily?” or “Why does life just get better every day?”

By reciting ask-firmations the universe will then start searching for – and finding – ways to bring the answers into your life. I know, it’s a trip, right? I live by this technique and it has changed my life.

For as long as we live, there will always be something. The question is: “What are you gonna do about it?”

Share with me below how you stay positive when life takes an unexpected turn.
